Chris Wootton:
acoustic guitar, percussion, drums, vocals, harmonica.
Hello I'm Woot and this is a bit about me.......
I was born on a lovely summers day on November 29th
1958. The youngest of 17 siblings. My father was a test pilot in
a condom factory and my mother was a housewife. I was raised in
the beautiful Shropshire town of Shrewsbury & met Ron when we
were pupils at 'The Belvidere School for the Academically Unaware',
(Shunter was there as well but he was a year below us so we didn't
talk to him (nothing's changed)). We both took guitar lessons with
the french teacher Mr Rowe and started our first band at the age
of 15. I met E sometime in the 80's when he & Ron played in
a local band called 'Ronnie Goes To Hollinswood' with Julian
Ward on guitar, Malcolm
Wragg on drums, Andy Ritchie on Guitar and harp and I would
occasionally make a guest appearance in various stupid disguises.
In 1987 Ron buggered off to do his own music thing and Julian went
to look round the world (fell in love and got married in Australia
and started breeding Alpacas!!!) whilst I stayed put working for
Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service and part time (as firemen do)
at Salop Music Centre. 'The Ronnies' reformed in the early 90's
and I got rid of my guest spot and became a full time member on
percussion and backing vocals. There I stayed through various changes
in line up until The Ronnies finally split just over 2 years ago. And
now here we are with a new name, new line up and totally new sound.
.....Well it was new when I wrote that last year!
